The quality of our repair and restoration services lies in the experience and skills of our directly employed craftsmen and our unstinting commitment to training and the on-going development of traditional craft skills.
Combining practical experience with technical and academic learning by placing apprentices with craftsmen on site and in the workshops has always been the best way of developing tomorrow's Master Craftsmen and Site Foremen. The Linford workshops and studios, producing joinery, stonemasonry, wood carving, stone sculpture and fine crafts within a fully commercial environment, have for generations been an inspiration to craft apprentices. In recent years, with the nearest college to teach advanced heritage skills (up to NVQ Level 5) being more than 100 miles away, Linford Group has been keen to develop a brand new facility. The result is the Lichfield Centre for Master Crafts, an exciting new centre of excellence which will take apprentices from NVQ 3 to NVQ 5 in all the traditional heritage skills. Linford directly employs a unique breadth and depth of craftsmen and women, and it is their skill and passion that defines the quality of our work:
